1. OK Computer
Equal parts coming-of-age album as much as it feels like a treatise on how
youth culture is affected by the internet and everyday technologies. Thom Yorke's vocals show a really nice
range here, with small segments of spoken word, screaming, and his characteristic falsetto. The guitar work on this album
might be some of the best in any indie rock, the chord progressions are deceptively simple while maintaining
complex jazz harmonies with impeccable voice leading. Every riff feels like it fits together like a puzzle, yet
unfolds and develops new dimensions as each song progresses.
2. Immunity
Minimal techno produced largely off of just one keyboard with a built-in sampler. The production on this album,
with its barebones pallette, is razor sharp. Every kick, bass, and sliced up snare hit cuts through with dry
clarity.
